NIL

In October 2019, the NCAA chose to pursue rules changes permitting student-athletes to benefit from the use of their name, image, or likeness (NIL). A legal concept established by the NCAA known as the 'Right of Publicity,' the NIL allows student athletes to be compensated for their labor. The NCAA makes the rules surrounding the NIL and is made up of more than 1,200 member colleges, universities, and conferences. Some examples of NIL related activities include: autographs, personal appearances (speeches, commercial establishments), promoting a business, sale of merchandise with name, image, or likeness, social media endorsements, or representation in video games.

How Can You Get Involved?
